Denise was born in Seoul, South Korea. At 8 years old, her family immigrated to America, and she has been a US citizen since 1977.
She has one son who attended and graduated Federal Way High School. He is currently an apprentice electrician with IBEW Local 46. She lives with her son and her mother.

Her best friend is a labradoodle named Joey that she adopted when he was one year old. He’s become the star of the family.

Her professional career includes working as a licensed practical nurse, a graduate of North Seattle Community College, attended Eastern Washington University in 1986 and studied Psychology and Business. She currently works for Harstene Consulting, and as a nurse.

Denise is well known as a vocal advocate, talking to our representatives and senators, state and federal, about what issues and bills they should be working on. She has been a member of the South King County NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), visiting legislators about mental health, behavioral health, and suicide prevention bills.

She is running to be your next councilmember to bring a fresh perspective. She’s willing to listen, compromise, and work on solutions.
